HOW ANAPARTHI GOT IT’S NAME
In 14th century (1390 AD) during the regime of Reddy Dynasty, the capital of Reddy Rajas was Rajamahendri (Rajahmundry). During those days the nephew of king Katayavema Reddy by name Anapotha Reddy the son of Kumaragiri Bhupala of Rajamahendri, as a token of victory against the kings of Eastern side “Donated” to God Sri Gopalaswami , a village by name “Anaparathy”. This was evidenced by the inscription of AnapothaReddy, which is called “Anaparathi Inscription”.AnapothaReddy in his Anaparathi inscription depicted as the God Venugoplaswami is nourishing our kingdom. As a mark of respect, I am happily surrendering this big village possessed of prosperity and grandeur,now on this Sukha year 1312 , i.e., Vysakha Suddha Sapthami,with eternity to Lord Sri Venugopala Swamy.
As per the inscription the village Anaparathi is bonded by:-
East : Kudumala puntha . West: Tadi Thota. North : Umarubanda . South: Velagala puntha. South west :Thulyabhaga river with sacred waters. North west : Masaya cheruvu is now called Musaliah Cheruvu situated behind ILTD towards Dwarapudi. North east : Kokkerabanda is also called Koppasani cheruvu situated near Kotthuru (v). South east: Neredubanda a row of Neredu (Jamun) trees situated towards Koppavaram which is also called as Velagala Puntha.
Subsequently the name Anaparathy was transformed as Anaparthi.
